Designmuseum Danmark, February 2 – April 31, 2025

This exhibition explores fashion from a planetary perspective. With Fashion Dreaming, we ask: What kind of fashion designers does the planet need us to be? What kind of fashion consumers does the planet need us to become? And how can we expand our imagination to drive a future where fashion and responsibility go hand in hand?

Step into the future and meet six retired fashion designers reflecting on the transformation they witnessed in their industry. They made choices that placed the planet—not themselves—at the center of their decisions. By doing so, they helped redefine fashion’s role and responsibility in shaping a sustainable future.

These imagined life stories are rooted in workshops where students, professional designers, and industry stakeholders from Denmark and Argentina shared their visions for the future of fashion. Using speculative and futuring design methods, participants crafted collective scenarios that challenge and expand our understanding of the industry’s possibilities. AI then processed these insights, weaving them into the narratives presented in this exhibition—visions of the future with the power to influence the present.

Fashion Dreaming is part of a larger initiative at Designmuseum Danmark exploring dreams of the future, inviting us all to rethink how we design with respect for both the planet and future generations.
