I have felt like a PD since March 2024, but find it difficult to put this feeling into words, that might resonate with otters (pun partially intended).

I’m really not here to make jokes. It’s a badly drawn disguise to cover my lack of ability to translate my planetary dreaming into words and actions. An inability I’m rather ashamed of. So I’m not sure that “You might say I’m a dreamer” (to quote the great John Lennon) but I hope – here and today by joining you – that the words as well as the actions shall Come Together (Lennon again!). I shall endeavor (in my personal and professional capacity) to transform this planetary dreamlike feeling into actions (however muted they may be) that may contribute to our joint ambitions.

Planetary Dreaming: Designing the Future is a collaborative initiative uniting designers, architects, artists, and professionals from development and innovation-oriented sectors around shared climate goals and solutions. Founded at the Royal Danish Academy, Planetary Dreaming is bringing together institutions and stakeholders in design, architecture, and art, and will over the coming time expand to include more private and public actors. The initiative aims to promote a global exchange of tools and resources, communicate knowledge on climate action and sustainability solutions, and activate climate awareness through the narrative power of design, art, and storytelling.
